And if I’m completely honest, I didn’t sit down with a five-year business plan and decide I was going to launch a clothing brand.

I just bloody love country & western style. The boots. The denim. The music. The attitude. That effortless Western look that somehow manages to be rugged, comfortable and seriously cool.

But living in Devon, I kept finding the same problem.
So much of the Western clothing I loved was either difficult or expensive to get in the UK, felt a bit too much like costume, or just didn’t quite work for everyday British life.

I wanted something in between.

Something that felt at home at a country show in Devon, at a country music gig in London, wandering across a muddy field, or stood at a bar with a beer in your hand.

And somewhere along the way I thought…

Why don’t I just make it?

Probably a ridiculous thought considering I had absolutely no idea how to start a clothing brand. 

But I started sketching ideas, finding suppliers, ordering samples, obsessing over fabrics, changing designs, testing fits and learning very quickly that apparently I have very strong opinions about pockets, embroidery, neck labels and the exact shade of tobacco thread.

And Moor & Mustang started becoming real.

For me personally, it also came at exactly the right time.

After years of life being mostly about being Mum, fighting battles for my Sen children and doing everything for everyone else, I selfishly wanted something that was mine.

Something I could build.

And this is it.
